Activities at Porcupine Hills

Conservation is a priority at Porcupine Hills and Diepklowe Private Nature Reserve. Diepklowe is home to the endangered indigenous vegetation, Renosterveld. In light of this, the farm is proudly affiliated with various conservation efforts, such as Cape Nature, the Groenlandberg Conservancy, Conservation at Work, Table Mountain Fund and others. 

• Hiking Trails - Walks and hikes on offer vary in difficulty, from gentle nature walks to more adventurous hikes, such as the Verreaux trail.
• Day Trips - Being situated along the Van Der Stel Pass this allows access to various day-trip options beyond the boundaries of the farm.
• Birding - If you are a keen birdwatcher, there is abundant birdlife on the farm. Ask us for our bird list to enjoy the sightings, including the breeding pair of Verreaux eagles.
• Mountain Biking - There are some shorter 4x4 tracks around the farm suitable for mountain bikers - contact us for information about longer, dedicated MTB routes in the area.
